Hello, my name is Mimi and I'm a Twitter Addict

Hello, my name is Mimi and I'm a Twitter Addict

I've been addicted to Twitter for about a month now and I must admit that it has changed my life mainly because I've met some incredible women who use the site.  Instead of singling out just one inspiring mom/student/artist/friend, I'm going to talk about the group in general right now with the hope of motivating others to give Twitter a try.  I met several entrepreneurs who specialize in online marketing, blogging, etc.  Most of them have children, husbands, jobs, and hobbies and yet they all make time to devote to their personal businesses.  I can't tell you how many of my friends on Twitter have names such as Supermommy, Mamikaze, Powertothemommies and any other superhero sounding name you can imagine. I have so much respect for these women because they show us that hard work and passion can make you successful and lead to a fulfilling life.

I've used Twitter to network with recruiters, to learn about new products, to enter contests, to be inspired, to laugh, to cry, to be challenged....you name it.  I met many women just like me, who are struggling to make their mark on the world, but not giving up.  I am most impressed by the kindness of strangers who are willing to help answer questions and provide guidance.

Women of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds and styles are making their voices heard on Twitter.  There's nothing better than waking up and logging in and seeing what new friends I've made and how they will impact my life.  In the last month, I made 103 new friends through Twitter with whom I interact with almost daily.  And as someone who makes a big effort, this just isn't a possibility in the offline world.  So go ahead, try it.  We can be friends on Twitter and our lives can be better because of it.
